Alaska

Juneau, Alaska's capital city is the third largest city in the state, yet accessible only by sea and air. Still, tourism remains a major impact on the area. Whether tourist arrive by airline or cruise ship, they come with many of the same objectives in mind...hiking the trails in places like the Tongass National Forest, or the Mendenhall glacier. If that doesn’t satisfy their appetite for adventure they can board a small ship and visit the natural beauty of the Tracy Arm Fiord, or by floatplane to Admiralty Island, itself a National Monument, and a premier brown bear habitat.

Like Alaska itself, Juneau is full of contrasts. It’s a sophisticated cosmopolitan city. From its main street at the base of towering mountains overlooking the Gastineau Channel, a rich culture and history is on displayed.
