Adirondack Driftwood
I was canoeing on Upper Saranac Lake in New York?s Adirondack Mountains with friends as we began our final morning of a three-day trip. The sun was barely above the horizon and the cool air resulted in a light mist hovering on the lake?s surface. I don?t often shoot handheld but I had to make an exception when this scene drifted into focus. I like the way the backlit fog accents the drifting log setting it off from the tree-lined shoreline. I also like the way this special lighting showcases the spider webs and makes them look almost like jewelry.
